Blame annotation hovers stop working for Devtunnel

Description

When using GitLens in Visual Studio Code, hovering over blame annotations works correctly on my local machine (a dialog with commit details pops up), but it does not work when accessing the same project via a VS Code Dev Tunnel. While the inline blame annotations are visible and I can toggle the GitLens sidebar to view commit history, the hover dialog does not appear when hovering over the annotations in the Dev Tunnel environment.

Note that my settings on the extension enables all the hover options & has the same configurations as on my local machine.
